The newly opened highway connecting Kien Giang with Can Tho is expected to help Ha Tien city attract real estate investors.
Route Lo Te - Rach Soi has a length of 51km, a road surface of 17m wide, is built according to the standard of expressway class A, has 4 lanes for car with a speed of 80 km/h. The first point connects with Vam Cong bridge, Can Tho city. The end point is at Chau Thanh, Kien Giang connecting to the Rach Gia bypass project.
This is also the first 4-lane expressway going through Kien Giang province and builds inter-regional connections in the Mekong Delta. This route will connect with highways of the horizontal axis from Chau Doc - Tran De, Ha Tien - Ca Mau ... creating backbone axes, connecting complete traffic, helping the Mekong Delta to "take off".

Currently, from Kien Giang to Vam Cong, there is only one route - National Highway 80, but it is overloaded, the road is only 70 km long but it takes 2 hours to travel through. After opening to public traffic, the Lo Te - Rach Soi Highway will reduce the travel time to Rach Gia to 50 minutes and Ha Tien City to about 2 hours instead of 3 hours as before.
At the same time, the Highway 80 from Kien Luong town to Ha Tien city's international border gate was also constructed in early June this year, with a speed of 60km/h, and traffic is expected to be opened in the first quarter of 2021. As recorded at the end of October 2020, the contractor has deployed to Thuan Yen commune, Ha Tien city.
Thus, the biggest weakness for Ha Tien tourism for many years now is that traffic will be removed at the beginning of next year, making the city easier to connect with the Southwestern focal point - Can Tho city and other provinces in the region. Experts assess that this is an important premise for the tourism and economy of this coastal city to break through in 2021.
Accelerated tourism
To develop tourism, Ha Tien spent hundreds of billions Vietnam dong pumping sand to renovate the coast and create a beautiful white sand beach that measures up to the central beaches. Besides, the city has also completed the restoration of Da Dung Mountain, built the memorial house for southern amateur music, renovated the city's center embankment, relocated the night market to the new urban area, prepared forces for the renovation of "signature" tourist attractions.
In addition, the urban technical infrastructure system has been upgraded such as traffic, asphalt concrete roads, underground cable, residential - commercial - entertainment areas newly formed along river banks creating a spacious and beautiful landscape that strongly attracts tourists.
Ha Tien also actively promotes and expands tourist routes to Dong Ho lagoon, Hai Tac island, ... in order to exploit the most of available strengths. At the same time, actively invite investment in tourism and real estate projects to change the face of the city.

Strategies to catch up with the trend are helping the tourism industry to accelerate. Only in May 2020, Ha Tien welcomed over 40,000 tourists, accounting for 58.4% of the total number of visitors in the province. Recently, Mr. Vu Duy Vu - Deputy General Director of Saigontourist Travel Company led the delegation to survey and discuss with leaders of Ha Tien Tourism Department. Mr. Vu assessed that Ha Tien and Kien Luong have beautiful, unique, impressive natural landscapes, rich and attractive cuisine that have the potential to connect to Saigontourist's tours.
"Through the survey, I found that traffic is a big obstacle for the tourism of Kien Luong district and Ha Tien city to develop, if the transport infrastructure is soon completed, tourism will definitely grow," Mr. Vu said.
Real estate investors rushed over
Thanks to the advantages of infrastructure and tourism, Ha Tien is increasingly attracting real estate investors. Around Ha Tien city, many new trading floors have opened along Highway 80. Most buyers prefer the coastal side, where transport infrastructure and utilities have been formed.
One of the outstanding projects is Ha Tien new urban area invested by CNT Group. The project embraces the arterial traffic axis connecting the city center to Mui Nai, focusing on existing high-end utilities and possess a busy commercial area. According to Mr. Mai Duc Toan - Director of Business Department, right after the end of the 2nd epidemic, the transaction rate skyrocketed. Only in September, more than 80% of the launched products were successfully closed even though there was no centralized sale event. Not to mention the negotiable products also trade well.

"Investors are having a positive assessment of Ha Tien market because when they visit it directly, they feel the progress of inter-regional transport infrastructure is urgently being built. The city itself also creates a breakthrough in the tourism strategy bringing trust to customers", Mr. Toan explained.
The representative of CNT Group also expects that, with its position as the only land-based sea tourism city in the Southwest, the proper investment combined with complete infrastructure transportation will help Ha Tien improve its reputation. "If going on a short-term beach trip in the Southwest, Ha Tien will be the first choice of people in the region. Not to mention the number of visitors from Cambodia and Thailand tours," he added.
